Mt. Holiday (formerly Holiday Hills) was conceived in 1949 by a group of East Bay business people. Permission to clear a main run on state land was soon granted and many people volunteered their time to create a ski area with a single run and rope tow. Eventually, Ray Sutton and Dr. James Hall traded with the state to secure ownership of the land comprising the ski area. [read more]

Every Child Can Learn To Ski or Snowboard
Two skiership funds are in place to ensure no child will be denied a chance to learn to ski because he or she can not afford the sport. The Tom Hall Memorial Skiership and Warren Brosch Memorial Skiership have been funded to allow every child a chance to learn to ski or snowboard. The program offers lift tickets, rentals and lessons to any child that qualifies. Please call the lodge at (231) 938-2500 for more information or to find out how to enroll a child.
