Our son Mike was full of love, always ready to help others, and never without a smile. At just 14, he was offered a pill — the start of a long, quiet battle with addiction. Fentanyl changed everything. In the end, it was Kratom, legally sold but laced with fentanyl, that took him from us.
We share this not to shock, but to protect others. Addiction can happen in any family — even strong, loving ones like ours. Please talk to your kids and be aware of the risks in our community.
To honor Mike’s love for the outdoors and helping others, we created the Mike Summers Memorial Fund.
Every dollar helps local kids who can’t afford it get access to skiing and snowboarding — covering tickets, lessons, rentals, and gear.
